Since April 2009, Harborview Medical Center has collaborated with the Urban Rest Stop to provide free health care three days a week. Service is provided from 8:30 am to 11:30 pm, Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Public health nurses provide minor emergency first aid, preventative health care, pre-natal care, identification of more serious health issues, and referrals to other community health services. The fourth Monday of every month, foot care is available by a foot doctor.

The Urban Rest Stop also works with Al Shifa Health Resource Center and Students In the Community, both organizations of the University of Washington, to provide the Urban Rest Stop Health Education Program (URSHEP) which offers free health education programming every other Saturday at the URS. The URSHEP aims to provide knowledge and tools to patrons of the URS that empower them to: better care for themselves; prevent disease, disability, or other health conditions; and interact with their healthcare providers more efficiently. Additionally, URSHEP offers a unique opportunity for healthcare students to better understand the issues that affect homeless communities and a chance to be innovative about promoting accessible physical and mental health.
