The Downtown Urban Rest Stop (URS) is a hygiene center providing free restrooms, showers and laundry facilities to homeless men, women and children within a clean, safe and dignified environment. The downtown URS has 5 private shower rooms, 9 washer and 14 dryer units, and large men's and women's restrooms. Patrons receive free toiletries including toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, shampoo and soap. Patrons may borrow coveralls while they wash their clothes.

The URS also provides information and referral materials for homeless individuals and families, as well as assistance applying for housing. Resources are available in English and other languages.

All services are provided at no cost to patrons. The URS is the only Seattle-area hygiene facility with extended service hours specifically designed to assist homeless persons who are working or seeking a job. The downtown Urban Rest Stop is at 1924 Ninth Avenue, Seattle, WA (Map)

Hours: Monday-Friday 5:30am - 9:30pm (Closed Fridays 11am-2pm)
Saturday-Sunday: 8:00am - 3:00 pm (June 1- Sept. 30 open till 5pm)

Laundry appointments may be made by telephone, Monday through Thursday, after 6:00 a.m., at (206) 332-0110. Shower appointments must be made in person. The last laundry appointment is at 6pm. You must be signed up for a shower by 6pm.
